Wow, Sun is going to open source code?!?

If someone tried to tell me that Sun was open sourcing Solaris 10 I wouldn't have believed them. An interesting move on Sun's part. Of course the great thing is the part about it being free and that geeky programmers will have the chance to hack around with the code. Now there are two free operating systems available for the development world.

I wonder - will this cause more development for the Solaris? Will this increase usage? I think a lot of businesses will continue to use Windows because there are just more products available. Maybe over time it will change. Solaris 10 is a great operating system and is very powerful. Heavy computational programs could take advantage of this and a whole new market could emerge. Who knows what will happen.

Thanks for stopping by and reading todays blog. Favorite quote for today from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade:
Professor Henry Jones: I didn't know you could fly a plane.
Indiana Jones: Fly, yes. Land, no.
